The title must accurately reflect the research problem, object of study, or central argument without unnecessary wording.

The first author shall serve as the corresponding author, who is responsible for communicating with the editorial office throughout the manuscript submission, review, and publication processes.

All listed authors must have made substantial scholarly contributions to the work and must approve the version of the manuscript submitted for publication.

Abstract

Each manuscript must include abstracts in both Indonesian and English. Each abstract must consist of 150–250 words and be written as a single paragraph.

The abstract must cover the following four key elements without using separate subheadings:

  1. Background and Objective: Introduce the research problem, explain its context, and state the main research objective.
  2. Methods: Briefly describe the research design, analytical approach, and primary data or sources used.
  3. Results: Summarize the principal findings, arguments, or analytical results.
  4. Conclusion and Contribution: Present the main conclusion and indicate the article's contribution or originality.

The abstract must accurately represent the content of the manuscript. It must not introduce findings, arguments, or conclusions that are unsupported by the main text or exaggerate the significance of the research results.

Keywords

Three to five keywords must be provided after each abstract. The keywords should represent the main concepts, research objects, principal themes, and research methods, where relevant.

Authors should select specific and discipline-appropriate terms to facilitate indexing, discoverability, and article retrieval.

Introduction

The introduction must explain the research context, the significance of the topic, and the problem addressed in the article. It must present the background, objectives, relevance, originality, research gap, and contribution to existing scholarship.

Authors must critically review relevant previous studies and cite important publications that reflect recent developments in the field. The discussion should identify unanswered questions, issues that have not been adequately examined, or aspects that require further interpretation.

For research in Qur'anic and Hadith studies, authors must explain the relevance of the selected text, concept, interpretation, tradition, or historical context to the research problem. The introduction must establish a clear rationale and conclude with a statement of the main research objective and the expected contribution of the study.

Authors must distinguish their research from previous studies and explain how the article develops, refines, critiques, or extends existing scholarship.

Research Methods

The research methods section must explain how the research problem was investigated and how the findings were obtained. Authors must describe the research design, primary data or sources, source-selection criteria, analytical framework, and procedures used to interpret the findings.

For empirical research, this section must identify the participants or data sources, data-collection techniques, research instruments where relevant, and analytical procedures.

For library-based, conceptual, and textual research in Qur'anic and Hadith studies, authors must identify the primary and secondary sources used, explain the criteria for selecting relevant materials, and describe the interpretive or analytical approach applied.

If the study employs comparative analysis, historical criticism, thematic interpretation, content analysis, or another specialized method, authors must explain how that method was applied to the research materials.

The methods must be appropriate to the research objectives and described in sufficient detail to enable readers to assess the rigor, credibility, and limitations of the analysis.

Results and Discussion

The results and discussion section must present the main findings and provide an in-depth interpretation of their significance. Authors must explain how the findings address the research questions and contribute to the development of knowledge in the relevant field.

The discussion must critically engage with previous studies, relevant theoretical perspectives, and scholarly debates. Authors must identify similarities, differences, or contradictions between their findings and existing scholarship and explain the significance of these relationships.

In Qur'anic and Hadith studies, the analysis may include textual interpretation, examination of tafsir or Hadith literature, historical contextualization, comparison of scholarly views, and engagement with relevant contemporary research, depending on the research questions.

Authors must clearly distinguish the presentation of findings from their interpretation. Arguments must be supported by appropriate primary and secondary sources, and interpretations must be grounded in the evidence presented.

Tables and figures may be used when they help clarify the presentation. Authors should also acknowledge relevant research limitations and, where appropriate, identify implications for future research.

The discussion must demonstrate the relationship between the findings, the research objectives, and the broader scholarly context.

Conclusion

The conclusion must summarize the main findings and directly address the research objectives. It must explain the article's principal contribution to scholarship and clarify the significance of its findings.

The conclusion must not merely repeat the introduction or reproduce the discussion verbatim. Instead, it must present clear and concise conclusions based on the analysis.

Authors may discuss implications, limitations, or recommendations for future research where these are logically supported by the findings.

Acknowledgments

Authors may acknowledge individuals or institutions that provided meaningful assistance but do not meet the criteria for authorship. Such assistance may include administrative support, technical assistance, access to research materials, or other contributions to the completion of the study.

Acknowledgments should be concise and must not replace statements concerning author contributions or funding.

References

The reference list must include all sources cited in the manuscript and be arranged alphabetically by authors' surnames. Each source must be listed individually at the end of the manuscript.

Manuscripts must contain at least 15 references, including a minimum of 13 journal articles and 2 books. References published within the last ten years are preferred. Older works may still be cited when they are important to the research, particularly foundational scholarly works, classical texts, primary sources, and publications of historical significance.

All references and footnotes must follow the Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition, using the Full Note/Footnote citation system. Authors must use Zotero to manage references and maintain consistent citation formatting.

The first citation of a source must provide complete bibliographic information. Subsequent citations of the same source must use the appropriate shortened form. The use of Op. cit. and Loc. cit. is not permitted.

Authors must verify the accuracy and completeness of all bibliographic information, including author names, titles, publication details, volume and issue numbers where relevant, page numbers, and DOI or URL information where available.

All sources cited in footnotes must be included in the reference list. Conversely, every entry in the reference list must correspond to a source actually cited in the manuscript.

In Qur'anic and Hadith studies, authors must accurately cite relevant primary sources, classical works, critical editions, translations, and contemporary research. Bibliographic information must be sufficiently complete to enable readers to identify the cited sources.

Citations and references included in supplementary materials are permitted, provided that all cited sources are also included in the reference list of the main manuscript.
