Author Guidelines

General Author Guidelines

  1. The softcopy article is written in MS Word format, Font Times New Roman 11.
  2. The length of the article is between 10-20 pages of quarto space 1, around 4,000 - 8,000 words, written in Indonesian, English or Arabic.
  3. Title., The title should be short, bright, and informative, but does not exceed 12 words. It has to be pinpoint with the issues discussed. The article title does not contain any uncommon abbreviation. The main ideas should be written first and followed then by its explanations.
  4. Author’s names and institutions The author's names should be accompanied by the author's institutions, institutions address, and email addresses, without any academic titles and job title.
  5. Abstract Abstracts are written in Indonesian and English. Abstract is made in one paragraph which consists of the background, objective, research methods, results, conclusions and keywords (3-5 phrases
  6. Articles are written in the form of Footnote. Author, Title, Publisher place: Publisher name, Year.

    1. The journal invites scholars and experts working in Islamic studies.
    2. Articles should be original, research-based, unpublished and not under review for possible publication in other journals.
    3. Manuscript should be typed in MS Document format, one spaced on A4-paper size, 10 to 20 pages, or about 4.000-8.000 words.
    4. The title of the article is written not more than 15 words.
    5. All submission must include 150 - 250 words abstract and 3-5 keywords.
    6. Full name(s) of the author(s) must be stated, along with his/her/their institution and email address;
    7. The article should be typed in footnote with Chicago Manual Style.
    8. Parts of article consists of: (1) INTRODUCTION, (2) METHODOLOGY, (3) FINDINGS AND DISCUSSION, (4) CONCLUSION (5) SUGGESTION.
    9. References must be noted in footnote and references according to CMS style. When a source is cited for the first time, full information is provided: full name(s) of author(s), title of the source in italic, place of publication, publishing company, and the precise page that is cited. For the following citations of the same source, list the author’s last name, two or three words of the title, and the specific page number(s).

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
